Magnus Vilhelm Nilsson.
Born 7 April 1840 in Kättestorp, Kisa (E).
Died 10 April 1927 in Södra Vi (H).
Magnus Vilhelm was born in Kättestorp in Kisa (E) in 1840. The date seems to vary: 1/5,
7/5 and 7/4.This latter date is found in the church book registering births and can therefore be
the right one. According to Linnea Carlsson, who is a grandchild of Magnus Vilhelm, he was
christened to Vilhelm because he was born on the Vilhelm day, which is the sixth of April. His
father was Nils Magnus Månsson and his mother Anna Lena Persdotter. Godfathers and
godmothers were Sven Månsson in Misterfall, the farmhand Sven Isak Jonsson in Vimantorp,
the wife Karolina Karlsdotter ibid. and the maid Stina Sofia Persdotter in Misterfall. The
Månsson family moved from Kättestorp to Havredalen, Vimantorp, the same year that his son
was born. In 1843 the family moved again - this time to Boås Utjord in Kisa, where Magnus
Vilhelm's father died 1844-05-06, barely 33 years old. Magnus Vilhem was four years of age at
that time. The same year Magnus Vilhem and his mother moved to Sven Månsson in
Misterhult (mentioned above), where Anna Lena Persdotter's sister, Greta Lisa Persdotter, was
wife and mistress of the household. In the book of the parish catechetical meeting of Kisa (E)
1841-45 you can find Magnus Vilhem together with his mother, who is named the widow Anna
Lena Persdotter. Magnus Vilhem moved from Kisa (E) to Tidersrum (E) in 1861. He married
Karolina Josefina 1864-10-22. Their son Nils Johan was born on the 2nd of May the next year.
Magnus Vilhem moved with his family to Horva in Tidersrum socken in 1868. In March 1873
Magnus Vilhem rented the farm Lindefall in the parish of Södra Vi in Småland, where the family
now had moved. Later Magnus Vilhem bought Hagstugan near Trångrössle, Södra Vi.
According to Linnea Carlson her brothers and sisters used to pick wood anemones and
hepaticas to congratulate their grandfather on his birthday. It was important that the flowers did
grow in time so the children used to take the snow away so that the plants would be ready to
pick. In 1927 Magnus Vilhem died at Hagstugan in Södra Vi.

Nils Johan Nilsson.
Born 20 June 1865 in Spinga, Tidersrum (E).
Died 1940 in Motala (E).
Parents: Magnus Vilhelm Nilsson and Karolina Josefina Eriksdotter. Sponsors at the
christening: Farmer Johannes Andersson and his wife Kristina Sofia Svensdotter in Norrhult,
the farmhand Samuel August from Klef and the maid Kristina Matilda Andersdotter ibm. Johan's
parents moved in 1868 from the crofter's holding Spingan number 48 in Söderhult, which was
a soldier's small-holding, to Horva, and Johan was three years old at that time and his sister
Anna Lovisa was one year old. Horva in the parish of Tidersrum (Tirserum) included 1/4
assessment unit of land and is said to be a homestead of state tax. In 1873 the family moved
to Lindefall in Södra Vi, Småland. Johan was almost eight years of age at that time and
another sister had been born in Horva 1871-03-19 : Karolina Matilda. Later the family Nils
Johan's father (Magnus Vilhelm) bought a farm called Hagstugan near Trångrössle, Södra Vi
(H), where his future wife, Hilma, spent her time growing up. When Nils Johan was going to
begin school, he was sent to a village called Ramsefall about 2 miles from Lindefall. He was
board and lodge a school pupil there. As time went by Johan and Hilma met and they married
1898-05-05 in Trångrössle. They moved to Örsåsa, where Hanna Linnea was born. Then they
left and went to Låxbo and later on to Trångrössle. Nils Johan's son, Henry, has pointed out
that his father was one of the participants in the march of farmers to the castle in Stockholm
1914-02-06. In March 1924 Nils Johan and his family moved to the farm Djurkälla near Motala.
The farm had good tilled land and a good deal of wooded ground. Nils Johan ran a sawmill -
often used by the local farmers when they wanted their timber sawed up. Nils Johan was sick
the last years - he suffered from enclosed tuberculosis and got more and more disabled and
weak. He died in 1940 and is buried at the cemetery of Motala.
