Biography

Born about 1415 in Sonstorp, Hällestad (E). Died before 14 September 1479. Born approximately in 1410 at Sonstorp in Hällestad (E). Knight/Councillor. Dead between 1478-08-15 and 1479-09-14, then at this latter date estate distribution was conducted after him. Married 1432-07-28 at Sonstorp, Hällestad (E) to Gunnur Torbensdotter. Owned Sonstorp and Tuna in Rystad (E), got Tuna by exchange 1451-07-20 and lived there for a period of time. District judge in Bråbo 1442-01-28, knight at the coronation of king Knutsson 1448-06-29, was a Councillor at the parliament in 1450 in Arboga, when the council of the realm recommended to give up Norway, presided at court in Linköping 1458-04-17. He was 1471-09-04 in Vadstena among those councillors that withdraw their allegiance from king Kristian l. 1478-08-15 his wife donated with his approval land to Alvastra kloster. He issued a deed of gift 1475-08-24 through which he for his father's soul and with his wife's approval gave Kattorp on Östbo domains to the parish clerk and organist at Hällestad, has in 1478 given a bumble-bee farm belonging to this habitation, which in the previous letter was excepted.

Daughter of the esquire and district judge in Vartofta hundreds, Torbern Kärling (Sparre) and Katarina Tubbesdotter. Dead after 1500-07-29. Married 1432-07-28 at Sonstorp, Hällestad (E) to Erik Holmstensson Rosenstråle. She draw up her will on the 2nd of August, 1489, in Vadstena, when she gave property to the abbey as a gift for the soul for herself, her deceased man and both their parents, but she still lived 1500-07-29, when she gave property to the abbey of Vreta for herself, her husband and "both our children's last resting-place and for both our parents, who rest there". Children: Birgitta Eriksdotter, born approximately in 1433 at Sonstorp, Hällestad (E). Was submitted of her parents as a nun in the abbey of Vreta 14/12 1451, whereupon to the abbey were given, among other things, Granstad in the parish of the abbey of Vreta, which had been owned by her grandmother. Birgitta died before the 23rd of July at the abbey of Vreta and was buried there.Torbern Eriksson, born approximately in 1435 at Sonstorp, Hällestad (E). Brother (monk) in the abbey of Krokek at Kolmården, when his parents gave Grimstad in Kvillinge (E). He lived 1470-03-14. Dead before 1500-07-23 and buried in the abbey of Vreta. Jöns Eriksson, born approximately 1440 at Sonstorp, Hällestad (E). District judge. Dead in 1515. Holmsten Eriksson, born approximately in 1450 at Sonstorp, Hällestad (E). Esquire (before 1495). Was registered owner of the family estate at Tuna in 1486 and 1489, but sold it in 1491.He was the owner of Näsby in Rystad (E) 1495-11-11, when he gave two farms in Kuddby (E) to the hospital of S:t Göran in Söderköping, which he confirmed 1515-03-27. He was residing in 1506 in Näsby, but 1515 and still 1520 in Skogstorp in same parish. He gave 1515-03-06 once more two farms to the hospital mentioned above. He seemed to have rebought his family estate Tuna because he registers himselt for it 1521-07-19 and still in 1523. He was alive in 1526, when he is registered in the arms equipping register of Östergötland. Holmsten died childless before 1535.
