Baptized 11 December 1845 in Lerbäck (T).

A.W.
Peterson grew up in Ingelsby, Lerbäck in Närke. He became a christan believer when he was
21 years old and studied at a mission school in Ahlsborg where he did very well. Later he was
to become one of the pioneers of the revival in Värmland and Dalsland. In the church register
you can find this remark: "He is never attending a service in the State Church. He uses a
separate communion - a sectarian." People thought of A.W. Peterson as a very original
preacher and around him and "Lundgren med lådan", who played and sang, there were
many people at their meetings. They brought a lot of people to a personal faith. In many parts
of Sweden A.W. Peterson was a well-known preacher and he even went abroad to Norway,
Denmark and USA. Peterson and his family lived for a long while in Bjurtjärn in Värmland, but
8/8 1894 they settled in Mellerud, Dalsland, where he died after being ill for a long period of
time in 1919.

one of the great pioneers of the free churchly movement there. Samuel went in 1893 to USA,
where he was converted at meetings in a newly formed congregation in Lynn, Boston. He
eventually returned home to Sweden again, but in 1899 he went to USA to study at the
Chicago Theological Seminary to become a pastor. After three years of study he graduated
and met as a newly-fledged pastor his wife to be, Ida Seaquist. They married on the 28th of
April 1903 in Minnesota and Samuel served as pastor in several congregations as Flensburg,
Freedhem, Randall, Little Falls and Lake City. In 1908 he accepted an invitation from Mellerud,
Sweden, to come and serve as a pastor there and the family moved the same year to Sweden.
Samuel became a well-known pastor in Dalsland and Värmland. Samuel moved in 1920 to
Limhamn, Malmö with his family, which now consisted of 8 persons including the two children
born in USA: mom, dad, five girls and a boy. Samuel stayed in Malmö until he was retired. He
